What makes a beautiful
human hair wig?
There is a word that appears on almost every wig listing: natural. Natural hair. Natural look. Natural movement. Yet the word alone tells you very little about the material, its processing history or the work behind the finished piece.
When choosing a raw human hair wig, it helps to understand what the terminology means, how the hair has been prepared and how the construction supports the result you want.
At Mendy Beauty, our attention goes beyond how a wig looks in a photograph. We consider the hair’s movement, the distribution of density, the cap shape and the finishing details that influence how it sits on the head.
We make our wigs with these details in mind. The aim is a piece that feels considered from the first specification to the final check before shipping.
What raw hair is —
and what to ask.
Raw hair generally describes human hair that has not been chemically altered before preparation for a wig or hairpiece. Its original texture and characteristics remain an important part of the material.
However, the description of the original hair and the description of the finished wig are not always the same. A wig created from hair sourced in a raw state may subsequently be coloured, highlighted, bleached or toned to achieve its final appearance.
This distinction is particularly important when choosing blonde or highlighted human hair wigs. The finished colour has a processing history of its own, and its care requirements should reflect that.
Useful questions include whether the hair has been lightened, whether its texture has been altered, how the cuticles have been handled and what care is recommended for that specific piece.
Donor count is another separate specification. The word “raw” alone does not establish that every strand comes from a single donor.
Raw hair, virgin hair
and Remy hair.
These terms are often presented as three fixed quality levels. In practice, they describe different characteristics and can overlap. Understanding the distinction is more useful than assuming that a label guarantees a result.
Raw hair
Generally refers to hair retaining its natural characteristics without chemical alteration before preparation.
Ask about any treatments applied afterwards, especially colour work or changes to the texture of the finished wig.
Virgin hair
Generally describes hair that has not previously been chemically coloured, bleached or permed.
The term alone does not confirm donor count, cap quality, density distribution or how well the finished wig will suit you.
Remy hair
Describes hair with the cuticles aligned in the same direction.
Remy hair is not automatically acid-washed, stripped or silicone-coated. Processing varies, so the individual specification matters.
A simple wet-hair test cannot prove origin, donor count or complete processing history. Reliable information about the actual piece matters more than a single test or marketing term.
The hair matters.
So does the making.
The difference between two human hair wigs can begin before construction, with the material used and the preparation it has undergone. But beautiful hair alone does not create a beautifully fitting wig.
Cap sizing, stitching, hair placement, density and the finished shape all influence how the piece looks and feels when worn.
We are involved in this process. We consider the specifications before production and check the construction and finish before your wig is shipped.
Before construction.
The hair’s condition, texture and suitability for the intended finish are considered as part of preparing the piece.
Colour, length and density should work together, rather than being chosen independently.
Made around the details.
The cap shape and distribution of hair affect the silhouette, the weight and how naturally the wig sits on the head.
Measurements and any available adjustments are discussed before production.
Checked before shipping.
We check the seams, hair caught in stitching and the way the piece sits.
These finishing checks are part of making the wig, not simply preparing a parcel.

Six reasons to look
beyond the photograph.
A wig should work in your daily routine, not only in a styled product image. These are the details worth considering before choosing your piece.
Hair that moves naturally.
The movement when you walk, the way the lengths settle and the balance of fullness all contribute to a natural-looking result.
Texture and density should complement your chosen length and the silhouette you want.
Flexibility with care.
Human hair can offer flexibility with curling, straightening and styling, according to the care instructions for the piece.
Heat protection and low temperatures matter. Raw sourcing does not make hair resistant to damage from repeated or excessive heat.
Dimension that suits you.
Root depth, highlights and tone can change the whole appearance of a wig. The right colour should work with your skin tone and preferred style.
Discuss available colours and any requested colour work before confirming your order.
Care beyond the first wear.
Gentle washing, suitable products, careful detangling and storage help preserve both the hair and the construction.
Lifespan depends on processing, frequency of wear and care. It cannot be established by the word “raw” alone.
A considered hairline.
Fine lace, knot placement, styling and a suitable fit contribute to the finish around the face.
Lighting and camera angles also influence how the hairline and parting appear.
A cap that suits your needs.
Comfort depends on cap material, size, weight and attachment, as well as the hair.
Tell us about scalp sensitivity or any preference for removing combs or clips before the specifications are confirmed.
What to expect
from your Mendy Beauty wig.
Our wigs are made upon ordering. We discuss your selected style, colour and cap size, together with any available cut or styling adjustments, before production begins.
Our upgraded collection is designed for glueless wear, with an adjustable cap and a lightweight feel. Exact lace, scalp-layer and attachment features depend on the model you choose.
Because a wig is a complete construction, we consider how the cap, density and lengths work together. A fuller look is not automatically the most suitable choice for every client.
Standard processing is approximately 7–10 working days after order confirmation. Special colours, unusual lengths or particular requests can require a different production timeline, which is confirmed individually.
How to choose the right
human hair wig.
If this is your first human hair wig, or you want to make a more informed choice this time, start with the details that influence everyday wear.
Density: choose the fullness you want to wear.
Density describes the amount of hair in the piece. Percentages are useful as a guide, but the finished appearance also depends on hair texture, length and construction.
Our usual guidance is around 180% below 18 inches and 200–250% for 18 inches and longer, depending on the model and desired finish.
Choose a level of fullness that suits your features and daily routine, rather than simply selecting the highest percentage.
Length: think about shape and maintenance.
Shorter wigs still require precise hairline and cap construction. Longer lengths offer a different silhouette but need additional care when detangling and storing.
Consider how you usually wear your hair, the time you want to spend styling it and the shape you want around your face.
Lace and parting: understand the finish.
HD lace can offer a delicate hairline when correctly fitted and styled. The result depends on the lace, knots, fit and lighting.
Silk top or a scalp-like layer offers a different approach to the appearance of the parting. Check the individual product for the precise construction.
Cap size: begin with measurements.
A comfortable fit starts with choosing the appropriate cap size. We share a measurement chart so you can take your measurements at home.
If you need help, we guide you online. Confirm your size and any available adjustments before production starts.
Wearing human hair wigs
in heat and humidity.
Dubai’s climate brings warm outdoor conditions, sunlight and frequent transitions into air-conditioned spaces. These factors are worth considering when choosing and caring for any human hair wig.
Human hair can respond to humidity, become frizzy or dry and tangle without appropriate care. A raw origin does not make it immune to weather, sun exposure or styling damage.
Cap breathability, manageable density and comfortable attachment can make a difference to daily wear. Choose a piece that works with your routine and the amount of time you spend outdoors.
Detangle gently, use suitable care products, limit excessive styling heat and avoid prolonged direct sun exposure where possible. Allow the wig to dry fully before storing.
During an online consultation, tell us how often you plan to wear the wig and what your daily routine looks like. These practical details help guide your choice.
Raw hair wigs:
your questions answered.
From the meaning of raw hair to cap sizing and international delivery, here are the details to know.
Need personal guidance? Book onlineWhat is a raw human hair wig?
A wig made using hair described as raw at sourcing. Raw generally refers to hair without chemical alteration before preparation, but the finished piece may subsequently be coloured or processed. Ask about the specific wig’s history and care requirements.
What is the difference between raw, virgin and Remy hair?
Raw and virgin generally describe aspects of processing history. Remy describes cuticle alignment. These characteristics can overlap, and none of these labels alone guarantees the quality of a finished wig.
Does raw hair always come from a single donor?
Donor count is a separate specification. It cannot be established from the word “raw”, the appearance of the hair or a simple wet-hair test. Ask for information about the individual piece.
How long does a human hair wig last?
Lifespan depends on the hair’s processing, cap construction, frequency of wear, washing, heat styling and storage. Gentle handling helps preserve your piece, but a fixed lifespan cannot be guaranteed.
Can I colour or bleach my wig?
Discuss your desired colour before ordering. We recommend avoiding home bleaching or colouring, especially on already lightened pieces. Colour work can affect the condition of the hair and should be assessed for the specific wig.
Can I straighten or curl a human hair wig?
Follow the care instructions for your piece. Use heat protection and begin with a low styling temperature. Excessive or repeated heat can damage human hair, including hair originally sourced in a raw state.
Are Mendy Beauty wigs glueless?
Our upgraded collection is designed for glueless wear with an adjustable cap. Confirm the exact construction, lace and attachment features in the description of your selected model.
How do I choose my cap size online?
We share a measurement chart after discussing your chosen style and colour. You take the measurements at home, and we help if you need guidance. The specifications are confirmed before production.
Can I arrange an online consultation?
Yes. If you are unsure about colour, length, density or cap construction, book an online consultation before ordering. We can discuss your preferences and help you choose suitable specifications.
Are human hair wigs suitable for sensitive scalps?
Suitability depends on the cap material, attachment and fit, as well as your individual sensitivity. Tell us about your comfort needs and whether you prefer combs or clips removed before ordering.
What are the processing and shipping times?
Standard processing is approximately 7–10 working days after confirmation. If your piece is ready sooner, we ship earlier. Outside the UAE, shipping via DHL or FedEx generally takes a further 3–5 working days. Carrier schedules and customs procedures can affect delivery. Special requests may require longer.
Do you ship wigs to Romania and internationally?
Yes. Mendy Beauty serves clients worldwide, including Romania. Delivery details and the relevant production timeline are confirmed when you place your order.
